Experience the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Pekiti Tirsia Kali Edged Weapons Fighting and Self Defense at our premier martial arts academy. With one of the largest kids programs in the Greater New Orleans area, We provided classes for ages 4-13, and adult classes 5 days a week. Our Fundamental program provides for a friendly environment for all beginners to ease their way into the Jiu Jitsu journey.
Our youth program ages 4-6
Our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu youth program is one of the largest in the area! We offer two age groups : ages 4-6 and ages 7-13. Some 3 year olds are accepted on an individual basis. The 1st group focuses on the fundamentals of body movement and mechanics through excerises and fun play. Your kids won't even realizes they are building a strong base of Jiu Jitsu while having fun during this 45 min. class
(Every Mon/Wed/Thur 5pm-5:45pm)
Our youth program ages 7-13
Our 7-13 year old Brazilian jiu jitsu class starts to ramp up the training and prepare them for competition if they so wish to choose. Although it's never an obligation! Classes are also 45 mins and usually begin or end with a fun activity. Some 12/13 year olds may stay for Adult classes if permission is given and providing a suitable training partner.
Adult BJJ program
Adult Brazilian jiu jitsu is separated into two categories: fundamentals and
Advance.
Our fundamental program consists of core techniques learned as combatives/self defense application. Once these skills are mastered over a period of approx. 3-9 months, However you may attend Advance classes after showing an adequate base and understanding of Jiu Jitsu. The main difference between the two is advanced has more live rolling and more complicated techniques. This process helps to prepare the newly training practitioner to ease into jiu jitsu with minimal risks of injury and not simply being thrown to the wolves.
Fundamental classes: Tues: noon -1pm and 6-7pm / Thu: 6:30-8pm
Advance classes: Mon/Wed : 6:30 to 8:pm. (advance athletes are encouraged to attend fundamental classes as well.
Edged Weapon Fighting
Our weapons program is based off of Pekiti Tirsia Kali. PTK is a Filipino martial arts focusing on edged weapons, a knife or sword. It is a highly focused skill for self protection used world wide in military, law enforcement and private citizen applications. It requires quick mobility, reflexes and instinct. This class is great for women, as a weapon is a force multiplier that can even the odds of a 100lbs woman vs a 250lbs man.

Self Defense
Our Self protection/Defense workshop curriculum goes beyond just the striking and combatives. We focus on training you to be your own bodyguard. This means avoiding the physical fight in the first place. With emphasis de-escalation tactics, we take the students through a full scenario and how to act, move and verbally communicate accordingly. If Physical confrontation is unavoidable, we teach simple effective techniques to get you to safety FAST.
Striking!
Twice a week we offer a friendly skills based striking class. Instructed by former competitors, our striking class consists of the fundamentals of boxing & kickboxing.
